SQL: query to get data in a particular month

I have some tables that contain dates.

I need to be able to get the data for a particular month, but not by the day of the month, but rather by the month.

So, if the data was in a table like this:

| Date |

+------------+

| 8/21/2012 |

| 8/24/2012 |

| 9/14/2012 |

| 10/31/2012 |

I would like to return all of the data where the month is September. So, in this case, the results would be all of the data that has 9/14/2012 in it.

You can use DATEADD() to add a month to a specific date

SELECT *

FROM mytable

WHERE Date

BETWEEN DATEADD(MONTH,1,'8/21/2012')

AND '9/31/2012'
